It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been heard.
The young soldier knew it was Sunday.
As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk.
Just then an army sergeant came in and said, "Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?"
The soldier replied, "I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord."
The sergeant said, "Looks to me like you're going to play cards."
The soldier sad , "No, sir. You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country,
I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards."
The sergeant asked in disbelief, "How will you do that?"
"You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God.
The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments.
The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
The Five is for the five virgins there were ten, but only five of them were glorified.
The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.
The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation.
The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives - the eight people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth.
The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him.
The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.
The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.
The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.
The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.
hen I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year.
There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.
he four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Each suit has thirteen cards - there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.
So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for."
The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, "Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?"
I hoped you liked the story and I am pretty sure that it is true, ummm, I got it off of a blog.

Are YOU ready for the big christmas season yet? I think that I am last night I went to a christmas party for the youth, at a church, and we played a game called ''Never Have I Ever'' there is 1 person in the middle and every-body else is sitting in a chair. sort of like musicail shairs... there is only a chair for every body exept for the one in the middle.. anyways, I would say,''Never have I ever worn a neck tie in public'' and if you have , you get up and try to find another seat, NOT beside you but you have to get up and and go accross the room to the other chairs. It was REALLY FUN. After that we exchanged gifts, Euri and I brought gag gifts, but it was fun . At the end we all talked about what Christmas was really about, it's not about getting presents, or spending time with friends and family, I mean that stuff is all good and it is nice to be able to get presents but Christmas is about the birth of Christ, the one who died for our sins.
So I hope that you have a good Christmas and still remember what the true meaning is.

OK... these are Magda's skates....but like I said....I use them.
I enjoy skating a lot.
Today we did school, we did a little bit of book work, and then we wrote a letter to a friend who is in Iraq. But it is very hard to explain how we are related.
These are some pictures that I took with my new camera....We are going to get me my own skates.....well we are supposed to. The reason why we have not mailed the skates back to Magda is because it would be over
300 dollars. and we think that she would rather have new skates than to have to pay 300 dollars. We haven't heard from her though.....
well, I have to go give Alex a bath:D

OK... so you are probably wondering...'what did she do to her hand??' but to tell you the truth it is only supposed to stay on for two weeks. Last year at the International fair they were doing these hand tatoos, but they were doing them with wax stuff ...( IDK what it is called :( ) and after like ten minuites or so... it was done! A girl probably about 14 of 15 free handed this on to my hand! After thirty minuites or so it was dry, then it started to come off just when I rubbed it up against somthing. and that is what the 2,3, and 5th picture is showing.... after the waxy stuff comes off :) I think that it is really pretty. it has soo much detail in it it is almost amaizing!
Today is my 12th birthday... ( that is what the 4th picture is showing.) I really don't feel any older... well that is all for now.

Euri did not think that the sky was pretty...so we told her that she was crazy :D I heve to go now... amelia
On Sunday afternoon I decided to have a little snack ;D I took vinilla ice cream and some chocolate syurp and OREOES (yummy). Then I chrushed up the oreoes and put a couple on top and poured chocolate syurp all over it...as you can see.
I am sorry that the pictures are not the best... :s

First of all I am sorry that I have not blogged lately!!!!
Well, today is my littlest brother's birthday.... He is going to be six years old! Too old! I have been teasing by saying ''Who said you could be six??'' and he just says, ''ME'' . I am taking piano lessons now ...well again, with a girl at our homeschool group. I really like her! She is really nice. She put me in a inbetween level...some thing are really easy but some things are rather hard. Tonight I think that we are going to go to a Mexican restaurant, it has been our family tradition for a long time. But my dad had to go on a business trip so he cant be with us, so we are going to get my cousin to go with us. Last night we let Alex open one present in front of daddy because of him not being able to be here... I think that tonight we will let him open one or two more presents.
well that will be all for now!
oh yea I changed my header to gumdrops but it is not up there because I didn't want the words in front of my picture<3

because of the little dresses quilted on them, I think that it is pretty. We are going to paint my walls green and have my accents yallow, I think I will like my new room!
although we have changed all of our plans to pink and grey, I think I am going to like the green and yellow better:D

I am very exited!! My mom was looking for some more Trixie Belden books for me and found a Trixie Belden camp.....I am not going, but I may go in a nother year or so :0)
I really like the website! there are...I guess..... a lot of websites on trixie belden, I started reading the books last year and I am reading through them speedily now. I want to read all of them (34) but I am oly on the 12th one :) I will probally read all of them if we can find them. One thing that we have found out is that the orrigonal writer only wrote the first 6, I didn't see a change in them. If you want to look at the website click HERE, you may be interested in the books or you may have never even heard of them. If you like mystries I think you would like them...(..my brother didn't want to read about a girl detective when he could be reading about Danny Dunn or the Hardy Boys.)
I have read a couple of Nancy Drews but when I started to read Trixie Belden I decided that Trix seemed more real, that is why I am stuck to the series...I haven't read a book in three weeks and I am about to go crazy...that was a joke...but my mother is going to order them soon!
I am going to have to go now:0)

Well today is one of our friends birthdays! So I am going to wish him a happy birthday! He has just started a new blog yesterday, he is on my sidebar list of blogs! check it out!
A couple of weeks ago I was rewarded a prize from the big basket for reading twenty books, I picked out a set of Nancy drew movies....really fun! Now I will tell you what in the world is a 'big basket'. We have something called a big basket so that when we finish a big task or a lot of books we get to pick from it and we seldom do get to pick from it for it takes a long time to read that many books! We also have a 'Dollar Basket' that is for when we complete one book or a Victory Drill or something smaller. We are now making a 'very small basket' so that when we complete something very very small we get to pick from that. (We are trying to find new names for them and if you have any suggestions we would like to hear them or know them! Please tell them to us if you do!)
I can't wait to watch another Nancy Drew movie! we have only watched two and there are four...we have also checked out a newer one from the library.
I am also starting to read some Frank Peretti's books and I think that I will be really interested in them. I got the Nightmare Academy from the library thinking it was the first book in the Veritas series, and found out that it was the second one :( So, we have requested the first one!
Well that is all for now!

OK this is a story that I wrote for school.....I had to write it based on a pic.
One morning a little girl named Jane, who was seven years old, woke up to her dog, up and ready for her to start the day. So they could play together. Jane loved her dog and said, "Up bright and early today aren't you!?"
When her mother came in her room to help her dress, she said "What would you like for breakfast this morning, dear?" and little Jane replied an said "some eggs and a glass of milk please." and her mother said "Very well but you must finish your chore before you eat or play." at that her mother left the room.
Oh, how she dread doing her chores! But she knew that she would have to do them later in the day if she didn't do them now. So, she proceeded with a happy heart. later after she had tidied her room, watered the garden, fed the chickens and gave food and water to the dog she came in to find that a hot plate of eggs and one glass of milk was waiting for her on the table.
After she had ate, she went to play with the dog outside. She played all through the woods and out in her yard and the in an hour or two her mother called her in for a nap. She immediately obeyed and went in for a nap.
She woke up in an hour and, found it was time for lunch. She ate a sandwich,it was very tasty. after lunch she went out to run a few errands for her mother, well, after she had gotten home it was time for supper. Her dad was sitting at the table waiting. they had a big super. With spaghetti and sauce.
At 7:00 it was time to go to bed for little Jane's After her dad had tucked her in the little dog came into the bed with her and Jane said "Tomorrow we will do it all over again"
If you liked reading my story pleas leave a comment! We just went to the library yesterday and found out that there are horseback riding lessons for 25$ per lesson! so I might be taking some! anyways!

Well I am ver happy that I have a niece that I can hold and love on and not just make her move around in Jessica's belly. She is a beeautiful baby and was born on the 20th of August.....she is getting prettier every day! well I am going ot have to go now! I am sorry that I can't tell you more but have fun

Surely but sadly the baby hasn't been born, but I am still hoping that she will be in a couple of days.
The Exchange student.....
Euri Jo, she is an exchange student from South Korea. She is tall and skinny and hes long black hair (it isn't very long), and brown eyes......i think. she went to sleep last night at 10:00 because she was with me while I was watching a movie (she fell asleep during it), and when we tried to wake her up afterwards, well........it took a while. I already want to keep her but my dad says that he doesn't want to because of the baby and my older brother Bradley's graduation. I don't know what that has to do with it. we think (mom and I) that she will be a big help and that she won't be trouble. She is like me in a lot of ways...she likes to read detective novels and she likes photography and she doesn't like to sleep in a room by herself. I haven't heard from my other exchange student, I rote her a long letter about her but i haven't checked the E-mail so.
please be praying, that my dad will let us keep her,

Today our beautiful trees were cut down because of the power lines. You see, every year or two they come to cut down the tops of our trees because of the power lines. I think that they should have put the power lines on the other side of the street so they would not have to cut down the tree.
Even thought that we really don't like our trees to be taken down, My brothers and I sort-of like it! We got to get some of the many many branches for bows and arrows, staffs, fire wood, stove things and so on.
well that is all right now!

Stars is a program in church, it is the most difficult program because have to do 27 badges and honor badges. You also have a choice to do 40 badges. I chose to do 40 badges because I need something else to do while the other girls caught up. You have to read a lesson and do 4 activity pages and memorize one memory verse for each unit, it sounds easy but it is not!
You stay in this program for three years and read the whole New Testament. You also to take a test, it is on the memory work you have done in the units (you are testing on the Bible verses).
you have to have at least a 70% on your test but a couple of girls including me made a 100%.
OK now the fun stuff! After you three years is stars you become an Honor Star, You have an award ceremony with all the other girls in your class. It is so fancy it is like a wedding. You wear a formal gown and long gloves and you get to pick out a crown. Your father walks you down the isale while a song of your choice and pictures of you are up on the screen. when you get up on stage you say your pledge and your pastor crowns you.
After the ceremony there is a reception. All of us girls (8) Preform a talent, I am going to sing. We have dancing and things like that at the reception. I think that it is a privilege being an honor star, not many girls get to do it ! Our honor star ceremony is next Saturday!
Be praying for one of the girls in my class, she is having eye surgery today and they are going to take the eye patch off for the ceremony, she is not supposed to take it off outside of her home, So pray that they make the right decision.
